A fresh and flavorful Italian appetizer featuring ripe tomatoes, basil, garlic, and toasted bread.
Ingredients
Tomatoes

ripe tomatoes
(about 7 to 8 medium-sized tomatoes)

garlic cloves
(1 to rub on bread, 1 minced in mixture)

extra-virgin olive oil

sliced fresh basil
(around 9 to 10 leaves, thinly sliced)

juice of lemon

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
to serve
flaky salt
Instructions
Chop the tomatoes and place in a bowl.
Add olive oil, salt, pepper, minced garlic, basil, and lemon juice. Toss and marinate for 20-30 minutes.
Toast the bread slices. Rub with garlic clove, top with tomato mixture, season, and sprinkle flaky salt before serving.
Notes
Use ripe tomatoes for the best flavor and adjust seasoning to taste.
