A flavorful and easy-to-make salad featuring marinated grilled steak topped with a tangy sesame soy dressing.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 2-3 lbs top round london broil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 1/2 cup mirin
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp dark sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 1 tsp ground ginger (or 1 tbsp fresh grated)

Dressing

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup unseasoned rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame seed oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions 

  • Mix marinade ingredients until sugar dissolves.
  • Marinate steak in a sealed bag for 6-8 hours, then bring to room temperature.
  • Grill steak over high heat for 8-12 minutes, depending on desired doneness.
  • Mix dressing ingredients until sugar dissolves; refrigerate.

Notes

Always use an instant meat thermometer to check steak doneness.
