A quick and flavorful dish featuring succulent shrimp coated in a homemade teriyaki sauce, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Sauce ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb medium to large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 green onion diced green onion
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp water (for cornstarch slurry)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions 

  • Mix soy sauce, water, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, green onion, and sesame seeds.
  • Heat oil in a skillet, cook shrimp 1-2 minutes per side until pink.
  • Remove shrimp, add sauce, bring to a boil.
  • Mix water and cornstarch, add to sauce, simmer until thickened.
  • Return shrimp to coat with sauce. Serve over rice and veggies if desired.

Notes

Serve immediately for best flavor.
