A delicious and hearty dish featuring bell peppers filled with seasoned ground meat, rice, and cheese, baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Bell Peppers

  • 4 large bell peppers (any color)
  • 1 pound lean ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare peppers and set aside.
  • Sauté diced onion and garlic until translucent. Add ground meat and cook until browned.
  • Mix in cooked rice, diced tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stuff peppers with mixture.
  • Place peppers in baking dish, add water at the bottom, and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Top with cheese and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until bubbly. Serve hot.

Notes

You can customize the filling with different cheeses or add herbs for extra flavor.
