Instructions
Blend basil, pine nuts, Parmesan, and garlic to make pesto; drizzle in olive oil until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
Cook pasta in salted water until al dente; drain and reserve ½ cup pasta water.
Sauté chopped onion in olive oil until softened; add minced garlic and cook briefly.
Add ground beef; cook until browned, then stir in tomato paste and red pepper flakes. Cook 2 minutes.
Pour in heavy cream; simmer until slightly thickened. Mix in pesto and adjust with reserved pasta water if needed.
Toss cooked pasta with sauce; serve hot with extra Parmesan.
Notes
Use fresh basil for best flavor and adjust seasoning to taste.
