A flavorful and easy Korean-inspired beef rice bowl perfect for a quick dinner or lunch.

Ingredients

Marinade

  • 1 pound flank steak (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (for marinade)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (balances flavors)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (infuses flavor)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)

Main

  • 2 cups cooked rice (jasmine or white)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for stir-frying)
  • 1 cup carrots (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup bell peppers (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup green onions (sliced)
  • 2 fried eggs eggs
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Marinate the sliced beef with soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and gochujang for 15 minutes.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan and stir-fry the marinated beef until cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  • In the same pan, stir-fry carrots and bell peppers until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Assemble bowls with rice, cooked beef, vegetables, fried eggs, and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your Korean-Style Beef Rice Bowl.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the beef longer or add a drizzle of sesame oil before serving.
