A hearty and flavorful dish combining ground beef, rice, and chickpeas, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Main

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon 7 Spice
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup basmati rice (rinsed and drained)
  • 1 15-ounce can chickpeas (rinsed and drained)
  • 1 ½ cups water

For serving

  • Fresh chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • Toasted pine nuts (for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onions and ground beef; cook until browned, about 8 minutes.
  • Add rice and chickpeas; stir to combine.
  • Pour in water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. Let sit off heat for 5-10 minutes.
  • Fluff rice, garnish with parsley and pine nuts, then serve warm.

Notes

Adjust seasoning to taste and serve with fresh herbs for added flavor.
