These flavorful mini chicken sliders are perfect for a graduation celebration, serving a crowd with ease and deliciousness.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Spices and Seasonings

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1.5 tsp black pepper

Sauce Mixture

  • 1.5 cups barbecue sauce (your favorite store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp hot sauce (optional, adjust to taste)

Buns and Toppings

  • 20 pieces slider buns (Hawaiian rolls work great)
  • 1.5 cups coleslaw (store-bought or homemade)
  • 20 slices bread and butter pickle slices (optional but recommended)

Instructions 

  • Add chicken breasts and chicken broth to a large pot or slow cooker. Season with spices. Cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours until shredded.
  • Whisk together barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and hot sauce. Drain cooked chicken and shred with forks. Mix shredded chicken with sauce and heat through for 10 minutes.
  • Slice buns if needed, then assemble sliders with saucy chicken, coleslaw, and pickle slices. Serve immediately or keep warm in a slow cooker on WARM setting.

Notes

For easier serving, keep the chicken warm in a slow cooker on WARM setting and let guests assemble their own sliders.
