These quick and easy garlic knots are made without kneading, using simple ingredients and baked to golden perfection.
Ingredients
Dough
1
cup
self-rising flour
(see notes on how to make your own if needed)
⅔
cup
cottage cheese, whole milk, small curds
3
tbsp
unsalted butter
½
tsp
garlic powder
¼
tsp
dried parsley
⅛
tsp
salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). Mash or blend cottage cheese until smooth.
Mix cottage cheese with self-rising flour until a moist dough forms. Shape into a disk and cut into 8 pieces.
Roll each piece into an 8-inch rope, tie into knots, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden. Meanwhile, prepare garlic butter by whisking melted butter with garlic powder, salt, and parsley.
Brush the knots with garlic butter immediately after baking. Let cool slightly before serving, optionally topping with parmesan and parsley.
Notes
You can make your own self-rising flour by adding 1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder and ¼ teaspoon of salt to 1 cup of all-purpose flour.
