These quick and easy garlic knots are made without kneading, using simple ingredients and baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup self-rising flour (see notes on how to make your own if needed)
  • cup cottage cheese, whole milk, small curds
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp dried parsley
  • tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). Mash or blend cottage cheese until smooth.
  • Mix cottage cheese with self-rising flour until a moist dough forms. Shape into a disk and cut into 8 pieces.
  • Roll each piece into an 8-inch rope, tie into knots, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden. Meanwhile, prepare garlic butter by whisking melted butter with garlic powder, salt, and parsley.
  • Brush the knots with garlic butter immediately after baking. Let cool slightly before serving, optionally topping with parmesan and parsley.

Notes

You can make your own self-rising flour by adding 1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder and ¼ teaspoon of salt to 1 cup of all-purpose flour.
