Ingredients

Dry ingredients

  • 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour (make sure it’s not expired)
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 0.75 tablespoon baking powder

Wet ingredients

  • 3 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 0.5 cup avocado oil (any neutral cooking oil)
  • 0.5 cup milk

Apple mixture

  • 2 to 2.5 cups diced apples (peeled and diced small, honey crisp preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Topping and finishing

  • powdered sugar for dusting powdered sugar

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a 7-inch springform pan with spray and parchment.
  • Mix flour, sugar, and baking powder. Add eggs and oil; stir until smooth. Fold in diced apples.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Meanwhile, warm milk, butter, and sugar; whisk until dissolved. Poke holes in the cake and pour the warm mixture over it.
  • Let the cake cool for 10-15 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar and serve.
