  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions 

  • Heat oil in a Dutch oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Whisk milk with vinegar, let sit 5 minutes, then stir in sour cream.
  • Mix flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl.
  • Dip onion rings in milk mixture, dredge in flour, then repeat for double coating.
  • Fry rings in hot oil until golden and crispy, about 3 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Drain on paper towels, sprinkle with salt, and serve with dipping sauce.
