A rich and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken breasts in a creamy mushroom sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • Salt pepper to taste Salt and pepper
  • Flour for dredging Flour

Oils

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Mushrooms

  • 12 ounces mushrooms (try cremini or white, sliced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Garlic

  • 3 cloves minced garlic

Broth & Liquids

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Cream

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions 

  • Cut chicken breasts in half, season with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken 4-5 minutes per side until golden, then set aside.
  • Add butter, then cook mushrooms with Italian seasoning until browned and water evaporates. Remove mushrooms and set aside.
  • Add garlic, chicken broth, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard to the pan. Stir and reduce by half, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Pour in cream, add chicken and mushrooms, and cook for 5 minutes until sauce thickens and chicken is cooked through. Season with salt and pepper as needed.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use fresh herbs and high-quality cream.
