A delicious and versatile pear sauce flavored with cinnamon and vanilla, perfect for topping desserts or enjoying on its own.
Ingredients

pears (around 10 medium pears), sliced
(You may peel or leave the peels on)

lemon juice (juice from one lemon)

cinnamon

vanilla extract

sweetener, optional (honey, maple syrup, or sucanat)
(Add to taste if desired)
Instructions
Wash and slice pears, then add to a large saucepan.
Add water, lemon juice, cinnamon, and vanilla to the saucepan.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes until pears are soft.
Blend the mixture until smooth using an immersion blender or in a regular blender.
Add sweetener if desired, then transfer to jars for storage. Freeze or can as preferred.
Notes
This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week or frozen for longer storage.
