A rich and moist marble cake combining the flavors of chocolate and pumpkin, perfect for fall gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Nonstick vegetable oil spray or unsalted butter, room temperature (for pan)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 15-oz. can pumpkin purée
  • 2.25 cups sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted, slightly cooled
  • 2.5 tsp Diamond Crystal or 1.5 tsp. Morton kosher salt
  • 0.5 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped, or semisweet chocolate chips (about ¾ cup)
  • 0.25 tsp Diamond Crystal or Morton kosher salt

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven and prepare bundt pan with nonstick spray or butter.
  • Mix dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately, then combine.
  • Divide batter and mix half with cocoa to create marble effect.
  • Swirl chocolate and pumpkin batters into prepared pan.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, then cool.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality cocoa and chocolate chips.
