A flavorful and creamy Cajun shrimp pasta perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 mini bell pepper or ½ regular bell pepper bell pepper, sliced thin
  • 80 g pasta (penne, fettuccine, spaghetti)
  • 8-10 shrimp peeled and deveined shrimp
  • Pinch for seasoning salt and pepper for shrimp
  • ¼ tsp Cajun seasoning for shrimp
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or cooking spray
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp Cajun seasoning
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper, adjust to taste
  • ¼ tsp dried parsley
  • ¼ tsp chilli flakes (optional)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅓ to ½ cup half and half cream
  • ½ cup pasta water (add gradually for sauce consistency)

Instructions 

  • Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning. Sear in hot oil for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and crispy. Remove and set aside.
  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
  • Sauté garlic and shallots in the same pan. Add bell pepper, paprika, Cajun seasoning, cayenne, parsley, chili flakes, and salt. Pour in half and half, adding pasta water gradually to reach desired sauce consistency. Simmer.
  • Return shrimp to the pan, add cooked pasta, and toss to coat. Simmer for 1-2 minutes. Adjust seasoning and serve hot.

Notes

Adjust cayenne pepper to taste for spiciness.
