Delightful chocolate cupcakes decorated to look like adorable black cats, perfect for Halloween or any celebration.

Ingredients

Cake Mix

  • 1 box dark chocolate fudge cake mix
  • 1 package chocolate fudge instant pudding mix (3.9 oz.)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup chocolate milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Frosting

  • 1 batch Best Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
  • Chocolate sprinkles optional Chocolate sprinkles
  • 3 Hershey chocolate bars Hershey chocolate bars
  • 24 large large heart sprinkles
  • 48 candy eyes candy eyes
  • 48 Chocolate pocky sticks Chocolate pocky sticks

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line cupcake pan with liners.
  • Mix all cupcake ingredients until well combined. Fill liners ¾ full.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes. Cool completely before frosting.
  • Frost cupcakes with chocolate buttercream. Decorate with sprinkles, chocolate ears, eyes, and whiskers.
  • Attach chocolate ears, add eyes and sprinkles to create cat faces, and insert pocky sticks as whiskers.
