A quick and flavorful dish combining tender beef, vegetables, and rice stir-fried with savory sauces.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb beef (flank steak, sirloin, or skirt steak), thinly sliced
  • 4 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old, cold rice)

Vegetables and Aromatics

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, bell peppers, or corn)

Eggs and Sauces

  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional) (for added depth of flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (for finishing)

Seasoning

  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 green onions chopped (for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Season beef with salt and pepper. Sear in 1 tbsp oil until browned, then set aside.
  • In the same pan, sauté onion and garlic, then add mixed vegetables and cook until tender.
  • Push vegetables aside, scramble eggs in the empty space, then combine with vegetables.
  • Add rice, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and sesame oil; stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
  • Return beef to the pan, mix well, and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.

Notes

Use day-old rice for best texture and flavor.
